আপনি fluently বলছেন, vocabulary ভালো, accent clear —
তবুও Band stuck হয়ে আছে 6 বা 6.5-এ? 😩

চিন্তা নেই — problem fluency না, grammar accuracy!
IELTS examiner fluency দেখার পাশাপাশি evaluate করে Grammatical Range & Accuracy (25%).

আজকে চলুন দেখি সেই ৫টা common grammar mistake যা প্রায় সব Bangladeshi IELTS student করে ফেলে —
আর সাথে শিখে ফেলি কিভাবে সহজে ঠিক করা যায় 💪

Mistake 1: Tense Mix-Up (Past–Present Confusion)

IELTS-এ tense consistency খুব important। অনেক সময় আমরা গল্প বলতে গিয়ে tense গুলায় গুলিয়ে ফেলি।

🔹 Example (Wrong):

“Last year I go to Cox’s Bazar with my family.” ❌

✅ Correct:

“Last year I went to Cox’s Bazar with my family.”

👉 যখন past incident বলছেন, সব verb past form হবে।

💡 Tip:
Story বললে tense follow করুন —

  • Past tense → for experiences
  • Present tense → for habits
  • Future tense → for plans

📘 Cue Card Example:

“When I was a child, I used to play cricket every evening.”

Mistake 2: Subject–Verb Disagreement

এটা Bangladeshi students-এর classic mistake 😅
Subject singular হলে verb-এ ‘s’ বা ‘es’ যোগ হয় — plural হলে না।

🔹 Example (Wrong):

“He go to university every day.” ❌

✅ Correct:

“He goes to university every day.”

আর plural subject হলে:

“They go to university every day.” ✅

💬 Quick Tip:
Always check “Who is doing the action?” → verb must match.

🧩 Practice:

My brother ____ (play/plays) football every Friday.
✅ Answer: plays

Mistake 3: Article Misuse (a, an, the)

Articles নিয়ে confusion প্রায় সব IELTS student-এর আছে!
Specially when to use “the.”

🔹 Example (Wrong):

“I visited Sundarbans last year.”
✅ Correct: “I visited the Sundarbans last year.”

“I have a umbrella.” ❌
✅ “I have an umbrella.”

🧠 Basic Rule Recap:

  • “a” → before consonant sound (a book, a car)
  • “an” → before vowel sound (an apple, an idea)
  • “the” → for specific things (the Padma Bridge, the Internet)

💬 Pro Tip:
In IELTS answers, use “the” for unique or known things — examiner notices accuracy!

Mistake 4: Preposition Confusion (in / on / at / to)

Bangladeshi students প্রায়ই preposition miss করে বা Banglish follow করে।

🔹 Common Wrong Examples:

WrongCorrect
I’m waiting for you since morning. ❌I’ve been waiting for you since morning. ✅
She is good in English. ❌She is good at English. ✅
I prefer tea than coffee. ❌I prefer tea to coffee. ✅
He lives in Dhaka city. ✅ (Correct!)

💬 Trainer Tip:
Practice prepositions with full expressions, not single words.
For example: interested in, good at, depend on, afraid of.

🧩 Cue Card Example:

“I’m really interested in learning new languages.”

Mistake 5: Overusing Simple Sentences (No Complex Variety)

IELTS examiner চায় আপনি range দেখান — শুধু simple sentence না, compound বা complex mix করুন।

🔹 Example (Basic):

“I like reading books. It is my hobby.” ❌

✅ Improved (Complex):

“I like reading books because it helps me relax after a long day.”

🔹 Example (Another Way):

“My father is the person who inspired me the most.

📘 Complex sentence মানে perfect grammar + natural connection.
এগুলো ব্যবহার করলে examiner বুঝবে আপনি confident English speaker।

🇧🇩 Bonus: Common Banglish Grammar Mistakes

Banglish SentenceCorrect VersionExplanation
I am agree with you.I agree with you.‘Agree’ is a verb, not adjective.
I am reading in Dhaka University.I study at Dhaka University.Use ‘study at’ for institution.
I didn’t saw him.I didn’t see him.After ‘did’, base form verb only.
She told that she is tired. She said that she was tired.Tense change in reported speech.
He can’t able to do it.He can’t do it.‘Can’ already shows ability.

💬 Remember: Examiner often deducts marks when Banglish patterns appear in fluent speech. Practice daily to avoid them!
